Katayoon is the daughter of the Kaiser of Rûm. One night Katāyoon sees a dream in which a stranger (Goshtāsb) offers her a bouquet and she accepts. When the Kaiser invites the nobles and grandees of the country to a feast, Katāyoon meets Goshtāsb and they fall in love.

Later on Katayoon learned that Goshtasb was a Persian prince and he was in disguise living Rum. But eventually he moved back to Persia with his  new bride.
